Brandon is the second-largest city in the province of Manitoba with a population of just over 46,000, and a metropolitan population of approximately 53,000. Situated in the southwestern corner of the province, the city is a major trade and retail hub for this largely agricultural region, serving a combined population of nearly 180,000. The city is home to major educational institutions, including Brandon University, Assiniboine Community College, the Manitoba Institute of Culinary Arts, and the Manitoba Emergency Services College.
